The force sucked Andrew through the circle of blue fire and into deep snow. He landed face-first.
“Ppptthb!” he gasped, staggering to his feet and brushing snow off his cotton pajamas. Why hadn’t he worn something warmer to bed? And then it hit him: snow. Cold. Blinding bright sunlight. And…a village? This wasn’t his dad’s house at all. This wasn’t even close to home. He had made a big miscalculation. Or maybe he hadn’t miscalculated at all.
“I knew it,” he whispered. He had suspected it for weeks, in fact. Something was interfering with his ability. Or rather, someone.
