Writing Prompts

It’s been a few weeks since I last posted for NaPoWriMo. I didn’t intend to stop posting; it just happened. Life happened. It’s rather complicated…

Anyway, I wrote a list of writing prompts. Feel free to use them and comment on this post if you do!

Write a piece of flash fiction (under 1000 words) or a poem that includes any of the following:

  • a countdown of some sort
  • a chipped teacup
  • a missing book
  • a sudden thunderstorm
  • a ruined dining room
  • a dream that tells of the future
  • a secret door
  • a forgotten face
  • an empty chair
  • too much of a good thing
  • words spoken in anger
  • locks of hair where they shouldn’t be
  • windows with their curtains closed
  • not enough of something
  • silence where there should be sound

Hopefully this inspires you (and me).
